9月6日 These have been Gods promises to me this week:"Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that miniustereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth He it by the works of the law, of by the hearing of faith?" Galations 3:4-5
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
God has said, "I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them." Isaiah 42:16 6月29日 RomaniaI recently received this e-mail and thought I would share it with
The first time I saw a street kid come up from the underground through a manhole like a worm, I thought I would die. "How could a human being exist like that? Is their life meaningless? Can't the Lord use children like these?"
And as I looked down the manhole into the darkness of the underground, there was a pretty young girl looking up at me. She smiled and said,"Come down and spend the night with us,."
The hot air and nauseating smell that came from her "dwelling" was so strong, so putrid, so nauseating, I quickly jumped back to keep from vomiting. She smiled and came up to greet me.
Her name was Alina and she looked fairly clean, except for the silver "aurolac" spots on her blouse. It was smeared on her lips and her breath made me dizzy. Aurolac is an inhalant from a paint base. This was the "drug of choice" for the street kids, but now they have moved on to heroin and more dangerous drugs.
How Alina could live in that hell-hole is beyond me. I have never gone down into the canals, because I was afraid I couldn't get back up. Ron and our co-worker, Dorin, have braved these scary chambers many times.
May I describe it for you?
Hang on tight and pray as you go straight down into what looks like a huge dark underground concrete room which surrounds a huge hot water pipe. This system of water pipes runs all over Bucharest, providing hot water for the city.
These rooms are chokingly hot and damp and are lit by candles. Huge cockroaches roam the walls at will, lice hide in the kids beds, waiting for them to return to their filthy, urine soaked mattresses that they share with dogs and dangerous people. Mold lines the walls. Be careful not to step in dog poo. They can't get out, so what can the dogs do? And the kids use the corners when it is freezing outside.
What is the point in telling you about their gruesome lives? It is to show you how some live. Many of these kids were raised in orphanages. And what future do they have now? Prison, poverty, prostitution, and early death.
Many street kids we have known have died from drug overdose, AIDS, or an accident while high. But thank God that they have had an opportunity to hear the gospel and many have received Christ, and some have escaped the wretched canal life.
I remember one evening when we went to the train station, one kid came running to me and yelled, "Mama Sue, Mama Sue..I have received Jesus...He is my Savior..and He is with us here in the canals. I have seen this young man many times since and is still following the Lord. He has no parents or place to go.so he stays with the other kids as a witness to how God touched his life.
Many people, even believers, think these kids are hopeless. One of the church leaders told Ron and me to stop going down there because they don't deserve our help...give it to old people, they said. And I replied that none of us deserve God's mercy...it is a free gift, even to "the least of these", like these street kids.
For years we have been helping them to leave the streets and have a better life with God's help. Some will never leave but some have. At one of the canals.they have cleaned their "home" and put up Christian posters and Scripture. They are proud of how they live now and call it their 4 star canal.
Pray that we will have the wisdom and energy to continue pointing them to the Lover of mankind and especially the "outcasts". But aren't we all pilgrims and outcasts of this world?
Thank you for your love and care for kids like these who desperately need the Lord. "with God, all things are possible."
Shalom from Ron and Sue 6月23日 BackWell everyone, I’m back. Had a great time…at the moment I’m rushed for time, but I’ll check back later. Thanks for all the comments on the last blog.

4月12日 I've learned....As we near the end of the semester, and I am once again smothered in Exams, Quizzes, Research Papers, Homework galore...
I just wanted to share with you something I have learned:
A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
Keep smiling everyone, and I’ll see you after finals. 4月5日 The cracked water pot
A water bearer had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years, this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor, cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years, I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house." Moral: Each of us has his or her own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots but it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them. **Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. - Author unknown 3月31日 For those of you who think I dropped off the edge of the worldThis is a basic java program, I thought y'all might like to see why I do not have the time to post like I used to, enjoy!: import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class NationalStats { public static void main(String[] args) { /**This methood calculates the total age of people and the total no. of families in a user-specified nation and baised on user-provided input. 2月21日 Up Coming ChangesHey everyone just wanted to let you know I have a bunch of great stuff coming up. I have a lot of blogs I published back before this site was so well known, that I will soon be republishing, as they have a lot of great content.
I also am going to be changing a few things around here, for instance making list of my spiritual blogs, and for those of you who have missed them, and the Pip and Squeak blogs, which should provide you with many hours of laughter.
As many of you know or have figured out by now, I love to encourage people in their walk with the Lord, which is why the spiritual element of this site is so important to me. Not to mention it helps people to grow in their walk with the Lord, as well as my own. So be looking for my upcoming spiritual stuff as an encouragement, and as something to grow and learn from.
I am also convinced that a good laugh helps to ease the stress that builds up in so many of us each day; and helps to make our lives a little more bearable, if not making us more bearable to those around us. I’m sure God made laughter, in fact the Bible is full of funny passages, for instance what was the first thing that God told Moses when he saw the burning bush? Don’t remember, it was quite funny if you think about it (I’ll enlighten y’all about it later). So I plan on more Pip and Squeak shows, but some Biblical humor to.
I also have a new idea I might be trying soon, something that would involve everyone, challenge you directly…we shall see as it is still in the planning stages.
Ok, last thing for today. I’m going to be separating my blogs a little more, I post some stuff that is quickly lost because by posting everyday the good stuff tends to move on rather quickly, as does the not so good stuff. So I am planning on starting to publish every 2-3 days, as most of you make rounds every 2-3 days, not every day; hopefully you all will actually have a chance to read what I write now.
God Bless Y’all HondaThis Advertisement for the new Honda Accord was shot in real time with no CGI involved in the sequence. It required 606 takes and cost $6 million to shoot and took 3 months to complete.
Check it out. 2月20日 10,000!!!!!!!!!!Hey everyone, just wanted to thank you all. I just found out last week I hit 10,000 page views on here.
As of right now my total page views stand at: 10,610. Page Views with in the last hour: 23 Guestimate of total page views for today (by midnight): 80-90 + (that’s a normal day).
I’m sorry I haven’t been posting the last couple days like normal, I’ve had some things come up, but I do have some more great blogs headed down the line. Mean while, check the archives, I’m sure you’ve missed a lot of great blogs; I’ll give you some time to catch up. J

And by the way, I’m not a big NASCAR fan, so don’t feel bad about not getting excited, I’d never watched a race until yesterday, and I only did it because the company (Little Debbie) I work for was sponsoring #21, Ken Schrader, who came in 9th. 2月14日 A Friend Called GraceTears dripped off of her crimson face She covered her head tried to hide the shame Caught and condemned now she can’t get away Just a pawn in the hands of a Pharisee game The noise and the rage of the frenzy grew As they struggled for the power in an ageless feud And as she softly cried they again reviewed The obvious fate of this ill repute Then a voice of His love ended all debate When His words of a hope sent the crowd away The hand that flung the stars in space Lifted her face and she heard Him say
Let me introduce you to a friend called grace Doesn’t care about your past or your many mistakes He’ll cover your sins in a warm embrace Let me introduce you to a friend A friend called Grace
The courtroom crowd grew quiet and still As the White Robed Judge called truth appeared As the ring of the gavel brought a fierce debate The players of eternity decided my fate In the light of truth all could clearly see The facts made the trial mere formality And my accusers stood with faded breath Confident conviction would end in death But from the Blood Stained Cross to the witness stand Walked a man with a hope in His nail scared hand The words that He spoke brought me sweet release He whispered I’m a friend that you need to meet
Let me introduce you to a friend called grace Doesn’t care about your past or your many mistakes He’ll cover your sins in a warm embrace Let me introduce you to a friend A friend called Grace

God Bless y’all, Isaac 2月9日 FencingOk, so I have had people on me about getting some new pictures up, well the site has been giving me fits, but I got that taken care of. So here are some pictures of the truck I have been driving since my van broke down (that I’ve talked about).
And from fencing club the other night, I got one of the other guys to get a bunch of pictures of a bout I had with John (another fencer).
So here you go, yes that is me in the blue jeans fencing, enjoy!
Also, as many of you know, my weekend blogs tend to be long…something worth reading…as I leave them up for two days. Well I will be posting Chapter 2 of The Quest For Freedom this weekend, so check back! 2月8日 How do I witness for Christ on campus?
I have had many different experiences, not one of them the same ;) each one is a little different.
If you've read my dating blog, then you have seen one of the biggest witnessing tools I have found useful. I didn't intend it that way, but when other students are talking about their girlfriends, how they spent their weekend, etc, many times they will ask if I have a girlfriend or not. I use it as an open door, they asked, and therefore most of them are willing to listen to me talk about my beliefs, and why I believe what I believe (I never would have thought that a dating blog could turn into a witnessing tool! I never intended for it to be that way, but God has used it). I've been able to share my faith with many people this way...guess if God can use a donkey....
Other ways thought include a student, who my first semester, asked about my belt buckle! It was an Cessna, he started asking about my interest in aviation. Well I'm planning on going into Missionary Aviation...strangely he seemed to be searching for God, raised Atheist he knew there had to be a God, but still hasn't found him. He transferred after that semester, to FL, strangely, a couple weeks ago I walked into class, and found that he has transferred back, and is in one of my classes! Please pray for him, we had several long talks my first semester, I haven't brought up the subject yet this semester, I pray the holy spirit will lead me to bring it up when the time is right. I don't know how it will end up, but I pray that he might find Christ, for some reason I have a feeling God might have brought him back here for a reason...and put him in my class...quite a coincidence no? But then coincidence is just God’s way of remaining anonymous.
I've found most people are curious about my faith and want to know a little, but that’s about as far as it gets, so I keep living my witness, planting seeds, the Lord will water, and someone else will hopefully reap.
I have also used my English essays (though I'm past English now), by writing my views on different topics, and tying my faith into them. Normally the essays get passed around for everyone to mark up, and then the teacher grades them...
I forget who it was, but someone once said "Give me 15 minutes with a man and I can tell you where his treasure lays".
Well you can't be around me without my faith coming up, its part of who I am. My faith is my life, therefore it affects every area of my life, and that is a witness to others who see that faith in me.
No I haven't seen anyone saved directly because of my witnessing, but that is not my job, I can't save anyone, only Christ can do that. If anyone could save himself or another, then why would Christ have had to come? My job is not to save but to witness, and share of Gods love.
Ok, for my last story, this one was quite funny actually. I had an Atheist student challenge my faith my first semester, after he saw me carrying my Bible around on campus (another great way to witness); I could tell he wasn’t buying my arguments against his claims. He started talking about reliability he said there is no proof that the Bible is anything but a bunch of stories. I asked him how we know that anything happened in the B.C. years (or something like that). He said because we have the writing on the caves by the Egyptians, etc. So I asked him point blank “You’re saying that if we had proof of the Bible from drawings on some caves, you’d believe it?” He kinda shrugged and said something like “I guess”
Well I was at a lost how was I to argue with him? I offered up a “flash prayer” because I had no idea what to say, I was at a complete lost. To this day no one can tell me that God didn’t hear me, I’ve seen him move in some neat ways, but this one still makes me shake my head.
The student kind of triumphantly walked over to the TV, planning on watching something, leaving me dumbfounded. Well he began flipping through the channels, looking for something to watch. I have no idea what the show was, or what it was doing on TV at that moment, but there was a historical documentary…about Hezekiah’s tunnel. For some reason the student stopped the channel, kind out of curiosity and watched the show. The documenters went through the history of King Hezekiah, and the circumstances, surrounding the tunnel and everything…and then went to 2 Kings and matched it all up. They showed parts of the tunnel that Hezekiah had used to bring water into Jerusalem, so that they could have fresh water, even if they were attacked. And guess what was on the side of the tunnel wall……the whole story had been carved in the side of the tunnel by the people who had built it. The host then shared the gospel trough it somehow…
Anyway, so then it was the other students turn to be at a loss for words, here was the proof he had had said he wanted, staring him in the face! Eventually he said something like “well that don’t prove too much”. But I could tell he knew he had been beaten at his own debate. I still see him sometimes on campus, and he hasn’t changed any…but I know that God heard me that day, and answered my prayer, he also showed that student himself, it was then up to the student to accept or reject Gods gift, he has to make his own choice, I can’t make it for him. But I know I did my part, the rest is up to God.
It also showed me that I needn’t be afraid to be a witness; the holy sprit will guide my words, and if I get lost, he might provide an interesting solution better then anything I could come up with… 2月6日 Monday againAlas, it is Monday again….I know most of you are wondering what on earth could be good about a Monday.
Well I have good news for you (and now it isn’t that I saved a load of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico).
I have successfully negotiated with the government (a the first time negotiation with the government has been successful), the result of this negotiation mean that it shall now be a minimum requirement that there be at least 7 consecutive days between each Monday! Isn’t that a relief?
Go out and enjoy you’re Monday! |
